FIKIRA

FIKIRA is a four-piece Afro-Fusion group led by Fiaindratovo (Mimy) Manavihare, a drummer and composer from the south of Madagascar. ​

Mimy blends banaike rhythms, jazz, afro-latin beats, and Zimbabwean music within the group's compositions.

Our band's diverse instrumentation showcases a mix of piano, bass, drums, percussion, trumpet, xylophone, mbira (thumb piano), and vocals in Malagasy.

Beyond performances, we are dedicated to nurturing the next wave of musicians and composers, urging them to embrace innovation in their musical endeavors, exploring various genres and styles to enrich their creative journey.

Music, for us, serves as a universal language that transcends boundaries, fostering unity and harmony within communities, showcasing the beauty of diversity.
